From January 27th to February 1st, 2025, Val Thorens, the highest resort in Europe, will host an extraordinary stage of the Freeride World Tour. After eight years of absence in France, this iconic freeride event returns in a unique setting, promising an extraordinary sporting spectacle.
Situated at 2,300 meters above sea level, Val Thorens boasts the perfect location for such a competition. The renowned Cime Caron will be the arena for this event, a peak famous for its technical lines and stunning views. With a start at 3,105 meters and a descent to 2,575 meters, the competitors will face a major challenge: over 500 meters of vertical drop on an average slope of 32 degrees.
This French stage of the Freeride World Tour is one of a kind: it is the only one accessible via ski lifts, thanks to the Cime Caron cable car. The athletes will tackle steep lines, ridges, and couloirs, providing a fast and technical descent. The open terrain, combined with narrower sections, will push riders to their physical and technical limits.
This Val Thorens Pro, a new addition to the circuit, is set to become a must-see competition in the freeride world. Located in the heart of Les 3 Vallées, Val Thorens stands out with its electric atmosphere, promising to thrill both athletes and spectators.
